Terms of Use

1. Eligibility & Access

• You must be at least 13 years old to use BoostPDF.
• You are responsible for any activity performed using your access to the Service, including files you upload or process.
• The Service may only be used for lawful purposes and must not be used in a way that disrupts or harms others.

User Authorization & Permissions

• To enable editing of files stored in your Google Drive, you must authorize our application via OAuth.
• You grant us only the permissions necessary to read, write, and manage the specific files you choose.
• You may revoke or remove that authorization at any time via your Google account settings.

No File Storage or Access by Us

• We do not store your files, view their contents, or retain permanent copies.
• Editing is performed client-side; your file does not pass through our servers.
• We do not claim ownership over your files. You retain full ownership of your content.

Responsibilities & Risks

• You are responsible for ensuring that the files you edit and save from Google Drive are allowed by your Google account and do not violate Google’s policies.
• If your Google Drive quota is full, or if the file is locked, permissions change, or file deletion occurs on Google's side, editing or saving may fail—we are not liable for such failures.
• We are not responsible for any Google Drive outages, API changes or disruptions by Google, or failures in the Drive service.

Compliance with Google API Policies

• Our app must comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy and related developer policies.
• If we change the scope of access or how we handle your Drive data, you will be notified and must consent before changes take effect.

Termination & Revocation

• You may terminate or revoke our access to your Drive at any time.
• We may also terminate access (suspend/disconnect) if we detect misuse, violation of terms, or if Google revokes our API client access.

Disclaimer of Warranties & Limitation of Liability

• We disclaim responsibility for any loss, corruption, or data errors arising from use of the Google Drive API or by actions outside our control (e.g., Google outages).
• To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for failures or damage related to the Drive integration is limited to the same terms of liability as in other parts of these Terms.

4. Free Access & Paid Subscriptions

Free Access: All users can access BoostPDF with daily usage limits. Limits reset daily (server time) and may be updated at our discretion.

Paid Subscriptions

• Remove usage limits and provide uninterrupted access to all tools.
• Payments are securely processed via Stripe. We do not store your payment card details.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancellation stops further renewals; the current billing period remains active. No partial refunds are provided unless required by law.
• We reserve the right to modify pricing, features, or usage limits at any time.

5. Your Content

• You retain all ownership rights to your files and documents.
• We do not claim any rights over your content.
• By using the Service, you confirm that you have the rights to any content you upload and that it does not violate applicable laws.

6. Our Rights

• BoostPDF software, features, design, and branding are owned by DigiReply.com Limited.
• You may not copy, modify, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service without our prior written permission.

7. Service Availability & Liability

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
• We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data or files.
• For paying users, our maximum liability is limited to the amount you paid during the relevant billing period.

8. Misuse, Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you:

• Violate these Terms,
• Attempt to bypass usage limits, or
• Misuse the Service in any way.

You may stop using BoostPDF at any time.

9. Mobile Applications (Android & iOS)

The following additional terms apply to your use of the BoostPDF mobile application available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

9.1 License & Acceptable Use

• We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the BoostPDF mobile app on your personal device(s).
• You may not redistribute, decompile, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the app.
• The app may only be used for lawful purposes. You must not use it to process illegal, harmful, or infringing content.

9.2 Account Registration

• You may register using your email address and password, or via Google Sign-In.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information during registration and keep it up to date.
• One person may not maintain multiple free accounts to circumvent usage limits.

9.3 In-App Subscriptions

• Android: Subscriptions are billed through Google Play. Payment, renewal, and cancellation are governed by Google Play's terms. You can manage subscriptions in your Google Play account settings.
• iOS: Subscriptions are billed through Apple. Payment, renewal, and cancellation are governed by Apple's terms. You can manage subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.
• Subscription prices are displayed in your local currency at the time of purchase.
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Free trial periods (if offered) convert to paid subscriptions upon expiry unless cancelled.
• Refunds are handled by the respective app store (Google Play or Apple) according to their refund policies.

9.4 Device Permissions

• The app may request access to your camera (for document scanning), file storage (for opening/saving PDFs), and internet connectivity.
• You may revoke any permission at any time via your device settings. Some features may not function without required permissions.

9.5 Local Processing

• PDF editing tools operate locally on your device. Your documents are not uploaded to our servers during editing.
• Server-side features (compression, conversion, OCR, AI tools) require an internet connection and involve temporary server processing as described in Section 2.

9.6 App Store Terms

• Google Play: Your use of the app is also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
• Apple App Store: Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
• In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the app store terms, the app store terms shall prevail to the extent of the conflict.

9.7 Updates & Discontinuation

• We may release updates to the app at any time. Some updates may be required for continued use.
• We reserve the right to discontinue the mobile app at any time. Active subscriptions will be honoured until the end of their billing period.
• The app requires a minimum OS version to function. We are not obligated to support older OS versions indefinitely.

9.8 Third-Party Acknowledgements

• Apple and Google are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms with respect to the mobile app and have the right to enforce them.
• Apple and Google have no obligation to provide maintenance, support, or warranty for the app.
• Any claims relating to the app (including product liability, legal compliance, or intellectual property) are our responsibility, not Apple's or Google's.

10. Updates to the Service & Terms

• We may update the Service or these Terms at any time.
• Significant changes (e.g., pricing or file handling) will be communicated when possible.
• Continuing to use the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

• These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
• Users in other jurisdictions (Australia, EU, US) may have additional rights under local consumer protection laws.
