Two Ways to Add Pages to Your PDF

Need to add extra pages to your PDF document? BoostPDF gives you two flexible options: add new blank pages that you can fill with content, or insert pages from another existing PDF file. Both methods are simple and take just seconds.

Method 1: Add a Blank Page to Your PDF

Adding a blank page is perfect when you need extra space for notes, signatures, additional content, or information that was accidentally left out of the original document.

  1. Open Your PDF File Click the button above or drag and drop your PDF into the editor. Your file loads directly in your browser.
  2. Click the "New" Button Look for the "New" button in the toolbar at the top of the editor. Click it to add a blank page.
  3. New Page Added A new blank page will be automatically added to the end of your PDF. You'll see it appear in the page thumbnails on the sidebar.
  4. Move the Page (Optional) If you want the new page in a different position, simply drag its thumbnail in the sidebar to wherever you need it. You can place it at the beginning, middle, or anywhere else in your document.
  5. Edit Your New Page Click on the new blank page and use the editing tools to add text, images, signatures, or any other content you need.
  6. Download Your PDF Once you're done, click "Export" to download your PDF with the new page included.

Quick Tip: You can add multiple blank pages by clicking the "New" button multiple times. Each click adds another blank page to your document.

Method 2: Add Pages from Another PDF File

If you need to insert pages from an existing PDF—like adding an appendix, merging two documents, or inserting a signed page—this method makes it easy. For combining entire documents, you can also use our Merge PDF tool.

  1. Open Your Main PDF Start by loading the PDF file you want to add pages to. This becomes your main document.
  2. Load the Additional PDF Open the PDF file that contains the page(s) you want to add. You can drag and drop it into the same editor, or click to browse and select it. The pages from both PDFs will now appear together.
  3. Reorder Pages If Needed Use the page thumbnails in the sidebar to drag and drop pages into the order you want. You can move pages from the second PDF anywhere within the first PDF.
  4. Remove Unwanted Pages (Optional) If you only wanted specific pages from the second PDF, hover over any unwanted page thumbnails and click the trash icon to remove them.
  5. Download Combined PDF Click "Export" to download your merged PDF with all the pages in the correct order.

Why Add Pages to a PDF?

There are many situations where you might need to add pages to an existing PDF:

  • Add Cover Pages: Insert a professional cover page or title page at the beginning of your document.
  • Include Additional Information: Add pages that were accidentally left out of the original PDF.
  • Append Signatures or Agreements: Add signed documents or additional agreements to an existing contract.
  • Merge Multiple PDFs: Combine pages from different PDF files into one complete document.
  • Insert Forms or Questionnaires: Add blank forms that recipients can fill out.
  • Add Notes Pages: Include blank pages for handwritten notes or comments.
  • Attach Supporting Documents: Add receipts, invoices, or reference materials to a main document.

Reorder Pages with Drag-and-Drop

One of the most powerful features when adding pages is the ability to reorder them easily. The page thumbnails in the sidebar show all your pages at a glance. Simply click and drag any thumbnail to move that page to a new position. This works for both newly added blank pages and pages from other PDF files. For more advanced page management techniques, check out our complete guide on reordering PDF pages.

The drag-and-drop interface is intuitive: grab a page thumbnail, drag it up or down to where you want it, and release. The other pages automatically adjust, and page numbers update instantly. This makes it easy to organize complex documents with pages from multiple sources.

Your Files Stay Private

When you add pages to a PDF using BoostPDF, everything happens directly in your browser. Your files never leave your device. Once you close your browser, all data is automatically cleared. This ensures complete privacy for your documents.
